Artist in Residence for Giardini Hanbury, La Mortola, Italy

Two of the UK's most celebrated artists are working towards a major exhibition based on the Côte d'Azur & Hanbury Gardens in 2008.

The artists are working on a residency at the Giardini Hanbury and have been provided with the historic Hanbury School at Mortola in Italy as a studio and exhibition space during the residency.

The artists are the first ever in the garden's amazing history to have been done an arts residency at the garden.

The Hanbury garden has close links with the gardens of Cornwall and John Dyer and Joanne Short have been resident artists for many of Cornwall's most famous gardens.

Artist in Residence for St. Michael's Mount 2006 & 2007

During May 2006 Joanne Short and John Dyer were the Artists in Residence for St Michael's Mount. Working with the island Manager and the St. Aubyn family the two artists have realised an exciting and unique new set of work which will be exhibited on the Mount at the end of the year.

The BBC did four live transmissions from the Mount, using their satellite outside broadcast unit to capture the artists at work, and the resulting footage has inspired many to walk the causeway to find out more about this magical island.
